Founded in 1989, AALNC serves as a resource to its members and provide a forum for education and the exchange of information.
American Bar Association
With more than 400,000 members, the ABA provides law school accreditation, continuing legal education, information about the law, programs to assist lawyers and judges in their work, and inititatives to improve the legal system for the public.
American Bar Association, Health Law
The American Bar Association Health Law Section is dedicated to increasing interest in the field of health law. Its over 9,000 members represent all areas of the health law industry and are committed to educating the legal profession in this rapidly changing area of practice.
American College of Clinical Pharmacology
The American College of Clinical Pharmacology strives to be the premier professional society with the size, influence and diversity of membership consistent with the breadth of the discipline of clinical pharmacology.
As an organization whose primary role is education, the College does not concentrate on any one aspect of the discipline. Rather, the College attempts to cover (through its diverse membership) the entire area of the interaction between drugs and humans. These areas include, but are not limited to, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical pharmacology practice in the outpatient and inpatient settings, human toxicology, drug interactions and clinical drug trials.
American College of Forensic Examiners
The American College of Forensic Examiners (ACFE) is a not-for-profit, independent, scientific and professional society.
Multi-disciplinary in its scope, the society actively promotes the dissemination of forensic information. The association's purpose is the continued advancement of forensic examination and consultation across the many professional fields of our membership. ACFE has elevated standards through education, basic and advanced training, and Diplomate Status. The College serves as the national center for this purpose and circulates information and knowledge through the official journal - The Forensic Examiner®, lectures, seminars, conferences, workshops, continuing education courses, and home study courses.
American College of Legal Medicine
The American College of Legal Medicine (ACLM) is a professional community of physicians, attorneys, dentists, healthcare professionals, administrators, scientists, and others with a sustained interest in medical legal affairs. The ACLM is the organization of healthcare and legal professionals whose diverse education, training, and experience enables the College to promote interdisciplinary cooperation and an understanding of issues where law and medicine converge.
Through its medicolegal resources, the College: educates and assists healthcare and legal professionals, advances the administration of justice, influences health policy and improves healthcare, promotes research and scholarship, and facilitates peer group interaction.
Australian College of Legal Medicine
Established in November 1995, the Austrailian College of Legal Medicine provides a network for doctors and dentists who have completed dual qualifications in law, and medicine or dentistry, or whose areas of practice are impacted on by the law, and who have consequently elected to undertake internal College or external training to gain at least a basic understanding of the law as it applies to their practices for the benefit of their patients.
American Dental Association
The American Dental Asssociation (ADA) was founded August 1859, at Niagra Falls, N.Y., by 26 dentists representing various dental societies in the United States. The ASA today has more than 141,000 members, 53 constituent (state-territorial) and 529 component (local) dental societies. It is the largest and oldest national dental association in the world.
American Medical Association
The American Medical Association was founded on May 7, 1847 to act as the unified voice of physicians working together to improve health care across the country. Since its formation, the AMA has worked to advance the art and science of medicine.
Global Lawyers and Physicians
Global Lawyers and Physicians (GLP) was founded in 1996 at an international symposium held at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Nuremberg Doctors Trial. As one of the earliest and most important human rights health documents, the Nuremberg Code was developed by lawyers and physicians working together. GLP was formed to reinvigorate the collaboration of the legal and medical/public health professions to protect the human rights and dignity of all persons.
Illinois State Bar Association Health Care Section Council
The ISBA Health Care Section Council provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information concerning health care law and the health care industry. It informs the public about important health law developments and initiates, promotes, and reviews federal and state law relating to health care matters. It also endeavors to further these goals and objectives through seminars, publications, and other activities.

University College of Dublin, Department of Forensic Medicine
The Department of Forensic Medicine is comprised of two sections. The academic unit is the Division of Legal Medicine and the forensic work is carried out in the Medical Bureau of Road Safety. In total there are 20 members of staff.
The World Association for Medical Law
The World Association for Medical Law was established in 1967 at its center in the University of Gent in Belgium. The national organizations for Medical Law all over the world are members of the World Association which produces "Medicine and Law" as an international quarterly.
Members of the World Association meet every two years at biennial conferences. In recent years, these have been held in Israel (1994), South Africa (1996), Hungary (1998), Finland (2000) and the Netherlands (2002). Future conferences are scheduled for Sydney, Australia (2004) and Toulouse, France (2006). Hundreds of researchers and educational experts are active participants in the congresses. The World Association is governed by a Board of 30 representatives, each from a different country and chosen during the general assemblies of the congresses. Prof. Amnon Carmi has served as President of the World Association since 1991.
